Mtskheta-Jvari-Gori-Uplistsikhe
Mtskheta is the first capital of Georgia. We will visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI century) . The Cathedral is the burial place of the Royal family Bagrationi and the patriarchs of Georgia. There is the unforgettable view from the Jvari monastery of the VII century (UNESCO site) to two rivers crossing – Mtkvari (Kura) and Aragvi. Uplistsikhe is the most ancient cave settlement hewed in a rock, from II-I millenium B.C. (UNESCO site). Gori is an ancient city which was located on the Silk Way. The city is spread in Kartli valley in the place of the confluence of the Mtkvari and Big Liakhvi rivers. Among the ancient sights of Gori there are the ruins of an ancient fortress Goristsikhe located on a hill in the city centre. There is the State Museum of Joseph Stalin in Gori.
